TRAILS & CAMPING
Kap Kig Iwan Provincial Park
The Englehart River plunges down whitewater rapids, over a waterfall (Kap-Kig-Iwan in
Ojibway), past rugged rock outcrops, through deep ravines and by flats of colourful
wildflowers in this picturesque park. Hiking, birdwatching and spring fishing are excellent.

Off-season – accessible on foot
Cross-country ski trails are groomed in winter.
Cedar Trail 4.5 km (2 hours) easy
Named for a 150-year old cedar tree that survived a major forest fire in 1922,
this trail skirts a beaver lodge and leads to a scenic view of the Englehart
Hell's Gate Trail 2.5 km return (1 hour) moderate
This trail follows the Englehart River past waterfalls, rapids and deep ravines.
Upland Circle Trail 5 km (2.5 hours) moderate
Birdwatching is excellent along this trail through pine, beech and poplar stands.

Timiskaming Abitibi Trail Association
The Timiskaming Abitibi Trail Association consists of 11 volunteer snowmobile clubs
that maintain trail systems that stretch from Temagami, north to Iroquois Falls and
from Chapleau, east to Kearns. We were formed for a variety of reasons, some of
which include promoting and encouraging a family-oriented snowmobiling facility that is beneficial to everyone in the system.

Established in 1979, this club provides 12 km of beautifully maintained, groomed
trails and an open chalet for recreational skiers and other organizations.
